Spectacular Individual Performances Steal the Spotlight in Ghaziabad
The fifth day of the Krishna Apra Future Star Under-15 Championship at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Ghaziabad produced another exciting chapter in the tournament, with two thrilling run chases keeping spectators on the edge of their seats.
While Sonipat Kings pulled off an incredible comeback thanks to Akshat Tawer’s breathtaking unbeaten knock, Noida Blaze continued their impressive campaign with a composed four-wicket victory over Bahadurgarh Royals.
The tournament, which has already witnessed several outstanding performances from young cricketers, once again highlighted the depth of emerging talent. Day 5 belonged to two players who delivered match-winning displays under pressure—Akshat Tawer with the bat and Sufiyan with the ball.
Akshat Tawer Produces a Stunning Rescue Act for Sonipat Kings
The match between Sonipat Kings and Karim Capital Chargers turned into one of the most memorable contests of the tournament after Akshat Tawer produced an innings that will be talked about for a long time.
Batting first, Karim Capital Chargers posted a competitive total of 137 for 6 in their allotted 20 overs. Siddharth Tomar led the scoring with a well-crafted 46 off 39 deliveries, anchoring the innings with sensible stroke play. Arav Patel chipped in with an important 33 runs, ensuring the Chargers crossed the 130-run mark.
Although Sonipat bowlers managed to restrict the opposition from reaching a bigger total, the target still looked challenging on a surface offering assistance to bowlers. In
Karim Capital Chargers Start Strong with the Ball
The chase began disastrously for Sonipat Kings. Karim Capital Chargers dominated the early exchanges, picking up wickets at regular intervals. The batting lineup crumbled under pressure as Sonipat found themselves struggling at 72 for 7, seemingly out of the contest.
The Chargers’ bowlers maintained disciplined lines and lengths, with Eklavya and Arav Patel claiming two wickets each. Every wicket pushed Sonipat further towards defeat, and Karim Capital Chargers appeared firmly in control.
However, cricket often rewards courage, and Akshat Tawer had other plans.
Akshat Tawer’s Explosive Knock Changes Everything
Walking into a pressure situation, Akshat Tawer refused to surrender. Instead of allowing the required run rate to climb, he launched a fearless counterattack that completely shifted the momentum.

The youngster smashed an unbeaten 74 runs from just 23 balls, producing one of the finest innings seen in this year’s tournament. His spectacular knock included three boundaries and an incredible nine towering sixes, leaving bowlers helpless and spectators amazed.
Every over changed the complexion of the game as Tawer dismantled the bowling attack with clean hitting all around the ground. His remarkable power-hitting ensured Sonipat Kings crossed the finish line at 142 for 8 in 19.3 overs, completing a sensational two-wicket victory with three balls remaining.
From a seemingly impossible position, Tawer single-handedly scripted an unforgettable turnaround.
Well-Deserved Player of the Match Award
There was little doubt about the Player of the Match honour. Akshat Tawer’s unbeaten 74 was not only the highest score of the day but also one of the tournament’s most impactful innings.
His fearless batting under immense pressure demonstrated maturity beyond his age and showcased the kind of talent that makes youth cricket so exciting.
Sufiyan Leads Noida Blaze to Another Impressive Victory
The second fixture of Day 5 saw Noida Blaze continue their winning momentum with a confident four-wicket win against Bahadurgarh Royals.
Batting first, Bahadurgarh Royals managed 137 for 7 in their 20 overs. Sharnam Shambharkar played a composed innings of 41 runs, while Dhruv Prabhakar contributed a valuable 32, helping the Royals build a respectable total.
Despite these contributions, the Royals struggled to accelerate consistently due to disciplined bowling from Noida Blaze.
Sufiyan Delivers Match-Winning Bowling Performance
The standout performer with the ball was Sufiyan, who consistently troubled the Royals’ batting lineup.
His figures of 3 wickets for 23 runs proved crucial in restricting Bahadurgarh Royals to a chaseable total. He mixed accuracy with intelligent variations, breaking partnerships whenever the opposition looked ready to accelerate.
Supported well by Arv Rathi, who claimed an important wicket while conceding only 13 runs, Noida Blaze entered the chase with confidence.
Sufiyan’s disciplined spell earned him the deserved Player of the Match award.
Balanced Batting Effort Powers Noida Blaze Home
Unlike Sonipat Kings, who relied on one extraordinary innings, Noida Blaze completed their chase through collective teamwork.
Ekam Deep provided a solid start with 33 runs, followed closely by Ayush Maurya, who contributed 32. Akib Saifi added another valuable 31, ensuring Noida maintained the required scoring rate throughout the innings.
Bahadurgarh Royals attempted a comeback through Naman Badgujar and Naksh Maan, both picking up two wickets each. However, Noida Blaze never allowed the pressure to build significantly.
The team eventually reached 138 for 6 in 18.4 overs, sealing victory with eight balls remaining and strengthening their position in the competition.
Young Talent Continues to Shine
As the championship progresses, every match continues to showcase exceptional young cricketers capable of delivering under pressure.
Day 5 highlighted two different paths to success. Akshat Tawer demonstrated how one fearless innings can completely transform a match, while Noida Blaze proved that teamwork and balanced contributions remain equally valuable.
The performances also underline the tournament’s role in providing promising youngsters with a competitive platform to develop their skills against quality opposition.
Several players have already emerged as future prospects, with consistent displays in batting, bowling, and fielding catching the attention of coaches and cricket enthusiasts alike.
Tournament Momentum Builds Ahead of Day 6
With five days of action completed, the Krishna Apra Future Star Under-15 Championship continues to gather momentum. Every round has produced close contests, exciting finishes, and standout individual performances that reflect the growing standard of junior cricket.
Teams will now shift their focus to Day 6, scheduled for 29 June at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Ghaziabad. While the fixtures are yet to be officially confirmed, expectations remain high as the tournament moves into another crucial phase.
With players like Akshat Tawer and Sufiyan setting new benchmarks through their match-winning performances, fans can expect more thrilling cricket in the coming days.
The championship continues to prove that the future of Indian cricket is in safe hands, with young talents displaying confidence, skill, and the temperament to perform under pressure on one of the biggest youth platforms in the region.
