Date: April 20, 2025
Location: Haldipokhar, Jharkhand

Haldipokhar, Jharkhand – On Sunday, April 20, 2025, former CK Nayudu Trophy player Tanzeel Up Haq inaugurated the second branch of his 22 Yards Cricket Academy in Haldipokhar, a rural area in Jharkhand. The launch marks a significant step toward nurturing cricketing talent in underprivileged communities and making quality coaching accessible at the grassroots level.

The new academy aims to create a platform for aspiring cricketers from rural Jharkhand, helping them hone their skills and dream big. Tanzeel, who has represented in prestigious domestic tournaments, envisions transforming the region into a cricketing hub, much like how Ranchi — the capital of Jharkhand — gave India a legend in Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

“Jharkhand is often recognized for its steel industries, but I believe it’s time we become equally known for producing quality cricketers,” said Tanzeel Up Haq during the inauguration ceremony. “With the 22 Yards Cricket Academy in Haldipokhar, I want to give every passionate kid — regardless of background — a fair chance to shine.”

Equipped with basic training infrastructure and supported by experienced coaches, the academy is open to boys and girls with the passion and potential for cricket. The initiative is a part of Tanzeel’s larger mission to promote sports as a means of empowerment and opportunity in the region.

This second branch stands as a symbol of hope and ambition for rural youth who dream of playing for the state, and one day, for the country.
