Meerut Spartans Win Future Star U-15 Championship with Dominant Nine-Wicket Victory

Meerut Spartans Lift the Trophy in Style

The DDH Meerut Spartans emerged as the champions of the Krishna Apra Future Star Under-15 Championship after producing a brilliant all-round performance in the final.

Played at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Ghaziabad on Wednesday, the title clash saw Meerut completely outplay Karim Capital Chargers and register an impressive nine-wicket win.

Chasing a modest target of 108, the Spartans completed the task comfortably with more than three overs remaining, capping off a fantastic campaign that saw them remain one of the strongest teams throughout the tournament.

Karim Capital Chargers Fail to Build Momentum

After being asked to bat first, Karim Capital Chargers struggled to find any rhythm. Right from the opening overs, the Meerut bowlers kept things tight and never allowed the batters to settle.

Arjun Mishra was the top scorer with 27 runs, while Eklavya added a valuable 22 runs in the later stages of the innings. Aaditya chipped in with 16, but the rest of the batting lineup found it difficult to cope with the disciplined bowling attack.

The Chargers were eventually bowled out for just 107 in 19.3 overs, leaving them with a below-par total to defend in the championship final.

Prakhar Vishnoi Produces a Match-Winning Spell

The standout performer with the ball was Prakhar Vishnoi, who delivered a superb spell under pressure. The young pacer picked up four wickets for 33 runs and consistently troubled the opposition batters with his accuracy.

Two of his wickets came through smart stumpings down the leg side, highlighting not only his clever bowling but also excellent teamwork behind the stumps.

Ashwin Mavi also impressed with figures of 2 for 10, while Avi Kumar claimed two wickets as well. Together, the bowling unit ensured Karim Capital Chargers never managed to post a competitive score.

Haryaksh Leads the Chase with a Calm Half-Century

Meerut Spartans began their chase confidently but lost opener Atharv Sharma for 13 after he was caught and bowled by Arav Patel.

However, that early breakthrough turned out to be the Chargers’ only success of the innings.

Haryaksh and Ansh Mittal then took complete control of the chase with a mature and composed partnership. They rotated the strike smartly, punished loose deliveries, and never looked under pressure.

Haryaksh remained unbeaten on 57 from 56 balls, striking three towering sixes during his excellent knock. At the other end, Ansh Mittal played the perfect supporting role with an unbeaten 31.

Their partnership guided Meerut Spartans to 108 for 1 in just 16.3 overs, sealing a convincing nine-wicket victory and sparking celebrations among players and supporters.

Prakhar Vishnoi Named Player of the Match

For his outstanding bowling performance that broke the backbone of the Chargers’ batting lineup, Prakhar Vishnoi was deservedly named Player of the Match.

His four-wicket haul laid the foundation for Meerut’s dominant victory and made him one of the biggest stars of the final.

Organisers Celebrate the Success of the Tournament

Following the final, tournament organiser Subhash Rajput of Red Rock praised the young cricketers and expressed his happiness over the success of the championship.

He said the vision behind the tournament was to provide talented Under-15 players with a professional platform where their performances could be seen by a wider audience.

He also described Meerut Spartans as the most complete and consistent team over the eight-day competition while appreciating Karim Capital Chargers for their impressive run to the final.

Live Streaming Gave Young Cricketers National Exposure

One of the biggest highlights of this year’s tournament was its professional coverage. Every match was streamed live on FanCode and YouTube, with complete scorecards, wicket replays, and match updates available for viewers.

For many of these young cricketers, it was the first opportunity to have their performances watched beyond the boundaries of the ground. The exposure added excitement and gave players a taste of professional-level cricket.

Support from Cricket Stars Added Prestige

The championship also received valuable support from former Indian cricketers Aakash Chopra and Parthiv Patel.

Their association brought additional credibility and attention to the event, inspiring the participating youngsters and showing that age-group cricket is receiving the recognition it deserves.

A Tournament That Builds the Future

The Krishna Apra Future Star Under-15 Championship was much more than just another youth tournament. With league matches, knockout rounds, and a high-pressure final, it provided players with valuable experience in competitive cricket.

Karim Capital Chargers fought their way through a challenging draw to reach the final, while Meerut Spartans proved why they were the best team by lifting the trophy with an outstanding performance.

More importantly, every player leaves the tournament with unforgettable memories, valuable match experience, and confidence that will help shape the next stage of their cricket journey. For these talented youngsters, this championship could well be the first step toward much bigger opportunities in the years to come.
